Kwon Nara might be taking the lead role in a new drama!
On February 15, Korean news outlet Sports Chosun reported that Kwon Nara was in talks for the female lead role in tvN’s “Bulgasal” (literal title).
Her agency A-MAN Project confirmed the news, saying, “Kwon Nara has received an offer for the tvN drama ‘Bulgasal’ and is positively reviewing it.”
Directed by Jang Young Woo of tvN’s 2016 drama “Entourage,” the series revolves around two characters. The first is a woman who has gone through several reincarnations over the course of 600 years and remembers all of her past lives. The second is a man named Dan Hwal who has lived for over 600 years as a bulgasal, a mythical creature that feeds off human blood and is cursed with immortality. He used to be human but is on the verge of losing the last remnants of humanity after such a long time. The only thing keeping him going is the desire for revenge against the woman who turned him into the monster he is today.
Kwon Nara is in talks for the role of Min Sang Un, who was once a bulgasal but is reincarnated as a human. Sports Chosun’s report states that after suffering the loss of her mother and twin sister at the hands of an unidentified murderer, Min Sang Un escapes with her younger sister Min Sa Ho and lives quietly in hiding. Although she works hard to conceal her name and identity, the appearance of a bulgasal alters her life of secrecy.
Actors Lee Joon and Lee Jin Wook are currently in talks to take on the roles of the bulgasal Dan Hwal and Ok Eul Tae.
Kwon Nara is known for her roles in dramas such as “Suspicious Partner,” “Your Honor,” “Doctor Prisoner,” and “Itaewon Class,” among others. She most recently left an impression with her performance in the historical drama “Royal Secret Agent.”
