EXO’s Chanyeol has enlisted in the military today (March 29).
Chanyeol will receive four weeks of basic military training before being assigned to a unit to serve as an active duty soldier. The time and location of his enlistment were kept private.
Prior to enlisting, Chanyeol shared a photo of himself wearing D.O.‘s watch. He wrote in the caption, “Goodbye,” along with the hashtag, “Kyung Soo’s [D.O.’s] watch.”
The day before his enlistment, Chanyeol wrote on EXO’s fan community, “I’ll be back safely. Don’t worry about me.” He made his last public appearance at the press conference for his film “The Box.”
Chanyeol is the fifth EXO member to enlist after D.O., Xiumin, Suho, and Chen. The estimated date of his military discharge is September 28, 2022.
