MONSTA X's Shownu to enlist on the 22nd... first of the members

 The eldest brother of the boy group Monsta X, Shownu (real name Son Hyun-woo, 29), will be the first member to enlist.

Starship Entertainment, the agency, announced on the 10th that Shownu will enter the training center on the 22nd and receive basic military training for three weeks before working as a social worker.

In July of last year, Shownu underwent ophthalmic surgery due to retinal detachment (a disease in which the retina falls off the inner wall of the eyeball) and is therefore subject to alternative service.

To prevent the spread of the novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19), the location and time of admission will not be disclosed. There is no special event held on the day of admission.

Shownu posted on the fan cafe that day and announced the news of his enlistment, saying, "It seems like I debuted yesterday, but it's time to go to the army."
