Black Pink has been appointed as the publicity ambassador for the 26th United Nations Convention on Climate Change (COP26) hosted by the UK this year.
According to the agency YG Entertainment on the 26th, a ceremony for the appointment of a public relations ambassador to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change was held at the residence of the British Embassy in Seoul on the previous day.
At this meeting, Black Pink received a handwritten letter from British Prime Minister Boris Johnson. Prime Minister Johnson, who named each Black Pink member by name one by one, asked the UK, who chaired COP26, to join us in raising global awareness of climate change.
Prime Minister Johnson expressed his gratitude that Black Pink's recent climate change response video was a huge success. COP26 will be held in Glasgow, England in November.
In December of last year, Black Pink produced and released a video introducing COP26 to inform the seriousness of climate change with the British Embassy in Korea, attracting the interest of the fandom'Blink'.
This video was also introduced at the '2020 Climate Ambition Summit' co-hosted by the UK, the United Nations, and France in the same month.
