‘Made in Rooftop’ Jung Hwi “The movies I want to do in the future are action and OO”

Sunglasses and a red pique T-shirt with his perm hair upright. Bong-sik appears on an electric scooter in front of his bewildered friend, Haneul (Lee Hong-nae), and puts his head in the ice cream stand at the supermarket saying it is hot. BJ, who has to pour endlessly high-tension words to Bong-sik, who has an eccentric charm, is undoubtedly his vocation. “But when I realized that the bright side was to hide the pain inside, my heart moved to Bong-sik. Jeong Hwi, who played Bong-sik, made his debut in the musical <The Sound of Music> in 2013, and then appeared in musicals <The Goddess is Watching>, <Bear the Musical>, and the play <Equus>. For him, who is more familiar with the stage, <Made in the Rooftop> is his first feature film, “It came like fate.” Although I am often misunderstood as to whether it is a pseudonym, Jeong Hwi cheerfully participated in the interview, saying that I am proud of being a 'real Hwi'. He gave an answer without any hesitation at every moment, but the concerns melted in it made me guess that he had been studying and studying Bongsik for a long time.

Director Kim Jo Gwang-soo has been paying attention since he appeared on the audition program <The Phantom Singer> in 2016.

It was so strange. I thought that Bongsik was very different from <The Phantom Singer>. It turned out that he had been recommended by an acquaintance in the performing arts industry. There are things that you shouldn't watch the audition for, and there are works that appear unexpectedly, but <Made in Rooftop> was the latter. It seems that every actor really has his own work.

Bong-sik says he will live to forty, and pours everything into the present.

It is completely future-oriented. I am greedy for good clothes and cars like Bongsik, but I tend to save hard because I worry about the future. Bong-sik decided to end his life at forty, so maybe that kind of life was possible. Actually, I want to live long, but it seems difficult in reality, so I gave up on the future and focused on the present.

In the play, actress Lee Jung-eun appeared as Bong-sink's downstairs neighbor.

He was so famous that I was just curious at first. I had to do all the filming for just one day, so I was wondering if the fight would be portrayed well, but the sunbaenim was so good that the words “Stop it” came out of nowhere. After that, we took pictures together and exchanged numbers. (Laughs)

After debuting in 2013, I have tried various roles in musicals and plays. What genre and role would you like to try in a movie?

I want to try action acting. I like to use my body When I was young, I studied taekwondo for a long time and got 4th dan, and I was an athlete until I entered high school. I also want to try a melody. It is also a dark melody of the end of the century. (Laughs)
