'Midnight' Wi Ha-jun "I lost 13 kg of the murderer I dreamed of... Satisfied with the chase"

Actor Wi Ha-jun
took off his romantic image of a younger man and returned as a strong villain.
In the chase thriller movie 'Midnight', he played a serial killer with two faces, revealing his cool face.

Ha-jun Wi, whom I met through a video on the 24th, recalled, "Since I started acting, I was willing to appear in a role that I wanted to try.

'Midnight' is a chase thriller film in which a deaf person named Kyung-mi (Jin Ki-Joo), who witnessed a murder in the middle of the night, becomes a new target for the two-faced serial killer 'Do-sik' (Wi Ha-jun).

The unstoppable chase between a murder witness who cannot hear the sound and a serial killer with two faces maximizes the horror that only I can hear, heralding the birth of a new genre called 'mute' thriller.

Wi Ha-Joon, who portrayed the two faces of a serial killer who is close to two roles per person, said, "I played romantic and friendly roles in the drama, but I did a lot of evil roles in the movie. I'm back.

He continued, "In some ways, I think it's my appearance that has given me a bit of an advantage in acting as a serial killer." "I've always thought that there is a strong duality in appearance, so I thought that I would be able to save it if I expressed it well through acting. " he pondered.

He, who played villains in the previous films 'Gonjiam' and 'Girl Cops', said, "There was a lot of energy before this. Because he did such a good job, I took a look at it, and in the part where he enjoys playing murder, I also looked at 'I Saw the Devil' senior Choi Min-sik."

For the sake of the character, he also tried to change the appearance, such as losing 13 kg. Wi Ha-Joon said, "Before filming Midnight, my body was in a state of bulking up. I maintained my weight at about 76 kg, but I lost about 10 kg in advance to look sharp in the external part. I lost more weight while filming here, so finally, I think I lost 13kg," he replied, "I lost a lot of weight in my mid-20s, so it wasn't too hard."

He said, "I wanted to express and immerse myself in the character of Schema as well as possible, so I usually tried to maintain the atmosphere, state, eyes, and breathing of Schema."

He continued, "I became very sensitive. I wanted to understand the psychology of a serial killer, so I looked at the materials and books that I profiled and acted with the motif of acting in several works. It was hard,” he recalled.

He revealed his presence as a creepy serial killer, but he was ruthless to himself. He said, "I couldn't see the movie because my acting and work were objectified. There are parts that I am satisfied with, but overall, it seems to be unavoidable." there is," he said.

However, he said, "The first time my friends complimented me. My friends are on the cold side, but this time, they were encouraged to say, 'It seems like you worked hard and did well. The oldest friend of my hometown never said 'Well done when looking at my work, but this time For the first time, he said, 'You really are an actor' and liked it," he laughed.

Regarding the chase scene where he put his most effort, he said, "I ran a lot. I worked hard enough to call Jin Ki-Joo and 'Midnight' 'Cartilage Knight'" and "The scene where he fell on the road while chasing was also a homage to the movie 'The Chaser'. As much as I worked hard, the chase scene seemed to come out well, so I'm happy and it's rewarding."

When asked if there was a reputation for 'Little Chaser', he said, "Thank you for looking at it that way. 'The Chaser' is such great work, so I'm grateful that there is such a response. I hope that 'Midnight' will be called that way in the future."

He also praised Jin Ki-Joo, who worked hard with him. Wi Ha-jun said, "Kyung-mi, played by Jin Ki-Joo, can't speak. There is no breathing to exchange lines, so 'Is breathing going well?' "I was worried," he said. "When I looked into his eyes, I could feel what state he was in and what emotions he had. He expressed the character really well, and thanks to that, I was able to immerse myself as a schematic.”

The movie will be released simultaneously on TV and in theaters on the 30th.
