BTS Gives Electrifying Performance Of “Dynamite” At 2021 Grammy Awards + Reveals Thoughts On Historic Nomination

For the 2021 Grammy Awards, held on March 14 (local time), BTS was nominated for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category with “Dynamite,” becoming the first Korean artist in history to be nominated for a Grammy.

The Best Pop Duo/Group Performance award ended up going to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande’s “Rain on Me,” but BTS nonetheless created an unforgettable night for their fans ARMY with another amazing performance of “Dynamite.” At last year’s ceremony, BTS performed in collaboration with Lil Nas X, making this year’s ceremony their first time performing solo at the Grammy Awards.

At the event, RM commented, “It’s just an honor to be part of this amazing night. I just want many musicians that do and spread a variety of music to be nominated in the Grammys and win.”

On being the first Korean group to be nominated for a Grammy, J-Hope said, “I think it’s meaningful that that musicians around the world and especially institutions like the Recording Academy have high regard for our music. And the fact that people around the world love our music really makes us proud. People learn about Korean culture through us, so that makes us really proud and happy.”

Lastly, V gave a message to their fans. “I really miss ARMY right now, and I think ARMY are feeling the same emotions we’re feeling now. We’ll bring even better music and stages next year. Even better than ‘Dynamite,'” he said. Jin then added, “ARMY, you worked hard until now. Let’s work hard this year too.”
